About Sozopol

The small but hugely charming town and resort of Sozopol, located a short distance from Sofia and Bourgas, attracts with its beauty and welcomes zillions of tourists each year. It is a superb resort with sandy beaches and beautiful natural landscapes. The middle of the town is embellished by a wonderful park which divides the town into two parts.

One of them is a unique architectural reserve abounding in ancient churches and other ancient buildings, and also preserving part of the one-time fortress wall that encircled the town. Two churches are active in Sozopol nowadays: the Saint George and the Saint Zosima churches; the latter was built in the middle of the 19 century.
